Throughout the conflicts of the last Great War, a new concept emerged. Whether drifting noiselessly to Earth by glider or dropped from the clattering transport aircraft by parachute, these soldiers were involved in many of the most ferocious and legendary conflicts of World War II.
Now they live on only in the memories of veterans and the imaginations of our youth. As the pioneers of the paratroops gradually pass away, many of their stories are regrettably taken with them. This website is intended to preserve not only the historical information about their lives and battles, but also to ensure that airborne enthusiasts, historical reenactors, and collectors can learn the most detailed facts about all aspects of these brave soldiers.
Silent Knights is a group of individuals that have all come together with this goal, and a desire to teach, as well as learn, about the airborne and gliderborne forces of many different nations.
Information is divided with a majority of information placed on our own forums. You do not need to be a forum member to read many of the posts, but there are benefits to becoming a registered member. We decided to leave "free reading" in hopes that people would become a part of our community because they want to remain a part of it, not as a result of a desire to read one post and never return.
Our site is also offering a dedicated chat room for members not wanting to add another forum as a result of this single question. This chat room is also intended to facilitate and promote the sense of community and camaraderie between members.
The website itself is a perpetual project (including our extremely basic main page), and is under extensive design at the moment, although both the forums and the chat rooms are completed.
